Established opened in Belfast’s Cathedral Quarter in December 2013. Mark and Bridgeen set out to build a café around great service, great coffee and great food, and marked ten years in December 2023. At the start, a lot of people gave it six months because “Belfast wasn’t ready for it”.

The café is walk-ins only, for sitting in or taking away. The Established Kitchen has a menu that changes regularly: eggs on sourdough, house-made granola, French toast and a breakfast bap with a sausage pattie and Guinness mustard aioli.

The coffee is roasted by Established itself, at its roastery in Sailortown, and sold in the café and online. The roastery also hosts the classes: Brew Better Coffee at Home, a two-hour brewing masterclass that tastes six coffees from the line-up, and Make Better Espresso at Home, a three-hour session on dialling in, milk steaming and machine care, each for up to five people. Established also supplies cafés, restaurants, hotels and offices, with La Marzocco machines, installation and barista training.

The current retail range is listed below with the roaster’s own tasting notes.
