Café Labath is a specialty coffee bar on a corner near the Sint-Lucas art college, a few steps from Sint-Michielsbrug and just outside the bustle of the Korenmarkt. The building was once an ironmonger’s, and the large shop windows were kept when it became a café, so the room is full of light, with hanging plants and red accents on the walls. There is an outdoor area as well.

The bar serves espresso and slow coffee, along with special lattes. The guests range from art students and young entrepreneurs to the residents of the care home across the street.

Labath takes no reservations; a table is found for walk-ins as quickly as possible. The house also lets three guest rooms, the Jungle Studio, the Boutique Studio and the Crown Apartment.
