Timeless Coffee is a bakery, café and coffee roastery in Oakland. Its mission is “rooted in love and care” for animals, the planet and its patrons: the whole bakery menu is plant-based and the coffee is roasted in-house. Timeless wants vegan treats to feel approachable to everyone and coffee culture to feel welcoming rather than intimidating, and it names inclusivity, equality and sustainability among its values.

There are two shops, the original in Piedmont and a downtown café, both with order-ahead pick-up. The bakery turns out layer cakes, cheesecakes, cookies and holiday pies, with a cake builder for custom orders and wedding and celebration cakes collected from Piedmont. The chocolate chip cookies, which Timeless thinks are the best in the world, ship by post. A ten-year anniversary capsule collection of workwear honours the company’s “punk/hardcore roots and plant-based ethos”, and its blue scorpion logo turns up on the mugs and tumblers.

The roastery sells single origins and signature and seasonal blends through the shop, by subscription and wholesale. The current single origins come from Ethiopia, Peru and Honduras, beside a Swiss Water decaf from Colombia, and the blends split into drip and espresso, with Black Sails as the first dark roast.
