17 Grams is a Brighton coffee roastery with cafés across Sussex: one in the Lanes, one in Hove and one in Chichester. It roasts its own beans in-house, and its baristas are trained across every brewing method. The cafés pair the coffee with a brunch menu of classic and more creative dishes, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options and dishes made without gluten.
Groups of fewer than six simply walk in, as most tables are kept for walk-ins, and larger groups book by email with a deposit. Laptops are welcome under a fair-use policy: they go on the communal table, and laptop users buy food or drinks for as long as they stay. Wi-Fi is free.
The roastery also sells its coffee online, with single origins recommended for filter or for espresso and Venus as the house espresso blend, and it supplies wholesale customers with training and support for their cafés. In autumn 2026 17 Grams took its new Corcalla coffee to the first Sip Coffee Festival in Sheffield, sharing its stand with Minor Figures, and served Ladon, an apple co-ferment, at a bar takeover in Battersea.
