Cypher Urban Roastery was founded in Dubai in 2016 to source, supply and roast coffee for wholesale customers across the region and for the people who drink it. It promotes fair trade across the whole life of the bean, with quality, transparency, consistency and social responsibility as its principles, and it ties its work to the Middle East’s own coffee history: the mission is to revive the region’s coffee traditions, older recipes, brewing methods and drinking customs, and share them with the world.

The roasting and warehousing facility in Al Quoz was built in 2016 and handles more than 30 tons of coffee. It is temperature and humidity controlled, with an internal coffee lab, a dedicated cupping area, a staging room for green coffee, Probat roasters and La Marzocco espresso machines. The Cypher School of Coffee runs Intro to Coffee, Barista Skills and Sensory Skills classes, SCA education and the CQI programme.

The range is sorted into three tiers, Head-Start, Coffisticated and Nobility, and runs from Sumatran espressos and Kenyan washed lots to Geishas from Bolivia, Tanzania, Peru and Colombia, auction and Cup of Excellence lots, and Arabic coffee in Saudi and Emirati roasts, with or without cardamom. Several coffees took medals at the Global Coffee Awards MENA 2026.
