Baobá roasts in Lisbon the coffee grown on its own farm, Fazenda Baobá, in the interior of São Paulo state in Brazil. Its line is “Brazilian roots, Portuguese roast”. The name comes from the baobab, a giant tree that becomes a home for many. It has been roasting in Lisbon since 2021.
The farm lots are Brazilian varieties such as Yellow and Red Catucaí, Yellow Obatã, Catiguá 2SL and Acauã Novo, some of them grown at 1,150 metres on volcanic soils around São Sebastião da Grama, and processed natural, honey or with long anaerobic fermentations. The 2026 limited edition is the first harvest of a plot of Red Catucaí planted at 1,350 metres, fermented for 114 hours below 25°C and light-roasted in Lisbon by master roaster Lokesh Pradhan, sold in a box of four 40 g packs. Alongside the microlots there are two blends made for espresso and milk drinks, and a washed Bourbon decaf from Gitega, Burundi. Baobá also releases collaboration lots, such as Conexão with Fazenda Bagagem in 2025.
There are two Baobá cafés in Lisbon, Baobá Café Bica and Baobá Café Marvila. Baobá also supplies other businesses with coffee from the farm.
