Miffie’s Coffee is a plant-based coffee bar in the foyer of the USC Tower at the South Park Centre in Downtown LA. It started as a coffee truck and has had its permanent home in the tower since 2023. The owners are British expats who brought “our love for bold coffee and sustainability to the City of Angels”. Every item on the menu is plant-based and every drink is made with plant milk.
The coffee is Australian, from Proud Mary. Every drink is pulled with a double shot as standard, using Ghost Rider, a seasonal blend; Proud Mary’s notes for it are a smooth, syrupy body and red fruit, chocolate and caramel. The cold brew is steeped for sixteen hours as a concentrate from Proud Mary’s Angel Wings blend; Proud Mary’s notes for it are floral, fruity and chocolatey. The matcha is Matchaful’s Hikari, a single-origin ceremonial matcha from Japan. A list of everyday specials, inspired by home, travel “and just by hype”, has a permanent place on the board.
Sustainability runs through the operation, from compostable cups to recycled packaging, and the bar also does catering. Proud Mary roasts the coffee Miffie’s serves.
