New Cut Coffee was founded in 2021 by Jack Hudspith and Katy Evans, who have worked in Bristol’s coffee scene since the early 2010s, and sits in The Art Warehouse at Wapping Wharf, on the Floating Harbour.
The coffee is roasted by Colonna Coffee, and New Cut built its own range with the roastery, choosing the beans, working out the blend ratios and developing the roast profiles together. The house blend on espresso brings together single origins from Colombia, Brazil and Zambia, a blend New Cut describes as smooth and sweet with gentle nutty notes, and the components are also brewed on their own: a Colombian from about 75 growers around Popayán in Cauca as a single-origin espresso, a Brazilian from Minas Gerais on batch brew, and a Zambian from Mount Sunzu in Mbala, with notes of Parma Violets, on hand brew.
The café serves cakes and sandwiches, and it is family, child and dog friendly.
