Coffee + Beer is an independent coffee shop, craft beer shop and tap room in Cotham. New coffees go on espresso and filter each week, bought from roasters across the UK and occasionally beyond, to show how far flavours and profiles can range. The retail shelf carries bags from Square Mile, Dark Arts, Origin, Round Hill, Triple Co, Hard Lines and Crankhouse.
The beer side follows the modern British brewing scene, with two rotating taps and around 100 beers on the shelves from breweries such as Left Handed Giant, Deya, Verdant, Wiper & True, Good Chemistry, Pomona Island and Beak. The aim is to make both drinks easy to understand: specialty coffee and craft beer, it says, can lean towards the pretentious, and the staff keep their knowledge for helping rather than showing off.
