Dark Arts Coffee was established in 2014. Its headquarters has been in Homerton since 2020, and the building holds all the roasting, quality control and production as well as a takeout espresso bar. The second site, opened in 2022, is a moody coffee stand inside The Great Frog in Shoreditch, serving espresso and filter among the jewellery, the clothing and a custom Playboy x TGF Harley chopper.

The roasting is light and modern. Dragon, the seasonal espresso, and Lost Highway are roasted specifically for espresso, with slightly more development than the rest, and are still light by espresso standards. Dark Arts buys as much of a coffee as it can from the farm, sells it while it is fresh and often goes back to the same farm the following season. All Coffees Are Beautiful is a limited Peruvian natural made with IDLES, with part of the proceeds going to a non-profit. Roasting happens Monday to Friday, and capsules and brewing gear sit alongside the bags.

Dark Arts also supplies coffee, equipment and training to cafés, restaurants and offices across the UK and abroad. Every wholesale customer gets staff training, and London customers receive their coffee in reusable tubs, delivered by electric van.
