Chill House is an independent Greek coffee shop in Mayfair, London, “rooted in Greek coffee culture”. The awning over the shopfront reads “Athenian Espresso Bar”. Ioannis runs the espresso and the latte art, Denise looks after the room, Aveek is the team’s flavour expert, and Mr Quick is the shop dog. Oat milk comes at no extra charge, and coffee can be taken as a cup to go or over a longer chat.
Freddo espresso, the Greek iced coffee made by blending espresso over ice, leads the menu. Freddo cappuccino adds a thick layer of cold milk foam, shaken to order at the chosen sweetness, and both also come in sealed Chill House cans to take away. Filter is brewed by hand on the V60 with single-origin beans. Ceremonial matcha comes classic or in signature drinks, and Freddo ice cream is soft-serve in a can finished with freddo espresso or matcha.
The coffee comes from farms that compete in the Cup of Excellence. The retail shelf carries Chill House’s own espresso blends and decaf alongside single lots from Hand Pickers Coffee Roasters in Athens, such as Frinisa Manis from Indonesia and Bildimoo Buku Abel from Ethiopia. Chill House also supplies cafés and restaurants wholesale, with barista training and equipment maintenance, hires out the shop for events, and delivers its coffee to homes, with order and collect at the Mayfair shop.
