WatchHouse Somerset House occupies part of the East Wing of Somerset House, the cultural centre on the Strand in central London. It is one of the Brunch Houses of WatchHouse, the London coffee roaster that opened its first House in a Bermondsey watch house in 2014.

The design team set out to show off the Neoclassical architecture of the East Wing and add a contemporary layer to it. At one end of the café is a hand-drawn mural of the London skyline by the commissioned artist Richard Hind. At the other is a room built around a living tree.

The House has a brew bar for its coffee, and its menu goes beyond the usual WatchHouse daytime offering. By day it serves the breakfast classics and seasonal plates of a Brunch House, such as smoked salmon with poached eggs and avocado on sourdough, avocado with chilli and dukkah, porridge and granola. By night a wine list and a small plates menu run late into the evening. There is outdoor seating, and dogs are welcome.

Somerset House is also the largest of the WatchHouse coffee shops for private hire in London, taking launches and gatherings of 30 to 65 guests.
