Hanover is the tenth House opened by WatchHouse, the London coffee roaster that started in a former watch house on Bermondsey Street in 2014. It came after Seven Dials, the ninth, and before Marylebone, the eleventh. The House sits in Medici Courtyard in Mayfair, in central London, reached from Hanover Square and about 30 seconds from the Elizabeth line station at Bond Street.

It is the home of WatchHouse’s Rarities menu, a frozen menu of rare coffees: single lots chosen for unusual varieties and for farming and processing methods at the leading edge of the trade. The current menu lists washed and natural geishas from Elida Estate in Panama, a Morgan Estate geisha served iced after an extended carbonic maceration, a Sidra and a Typica Mejorado from Pepe Jijon in Ecuador, a Pink Bourbon called Potosi from Colombia, and a Caturra decaf from Angie Hernandez, also in Colombia. WatchHouse presents the menu as “a collection of the world’s most innovative coffees”.

Hanover is an Espresso House, a contemporary café space offering Modern Coffee, built for quick service. The food is WatchHouse Bakery goods and sandwiches, with croissants, cardamom buns, House banana bread and carrot cake on the counter menu. The House also has the largest retail space of any WatchHouse to date. There is outdoor seating, and dogs are welcome.
