Lantana was founded in London in 2008 by Shelagh Ryan and Michael Homan, Australian expats who set out to bring Australian café culture and all-day brunch to the city. The name comes from the lantana flower, known in Australia for thriving in unexpected places. The kitchen makes everything from scratch and buys in season from independent suppliers, as close to London as possible, and the company became a certified B Corp in January 2024.

The original Lantana is in Fitzrovia, near Goodge Street station, with a courtyard out front and seating upstairs. It serves coffee, breakfast, brunch and lunch through the day, with Aussie-inspired plates such as corn fritters with halloumi or bacon, and hosts private events and office catering. Lantana has since opened at London Bridge, near Borough Market, over two floors with an evening menu called After Dark, and in Shoreditch, with a terrace in Oliver’s Yard.

Lantana does not roast. Its coffee is roasted by Climpson & Sons, the London B Corp roaster, and the bar serves espresso, long black, flat white, piccolo, latte and cappuccino.
