Mission Coffee Works started in 2012 as a street van serving coffee to the people of Peckham. In 2018 it decided to focus on roasting alone, and it now buys green coffee, roasts it in London and sells it to homes, offices and cafés. Its mission is “to create progress through coffee”, built on three Ps: people, passion and progress.
The core range is roasted to work with milk and to stand up on its own. Bells, the house blend of a natural from Fazenda Magnolia in São Paulo and a washed coffee from the Coopedota co-operative in Tarrazú, won a Great Taste Award in 2026, as did Pivot, its single-origin espresso. Alongside them, Edgaras Juska, the head of coffee, usually runs three or four single origins at a time, changing roughly every quarter. Coffee arrives by sea only, never by air, through import partners that ship full containers.
The bags are made from a single recyclable plastic, London wholesale customers can take their beans in 4kg buckets that are collected and reused, and the chaff from roasting is given away to gardeners. Mission has issued impact reports for 2024 and 2025. Marcello Geraci, a Q grader and SCA trainer who heads wholesale and education, leads professional barista courses, and both he and Edgaras teach classes for home brewers.
