Prufrock Coffee has served coffee and food in Clerkenwell since 2011. The café was established by three coffee enthusiasts and has since grown into a team of coffee professionals, a regular stop for locals and a destination for visitors from abroad. Its core belief is coffee and food that bring joy, with service that brings a smile.
Prufrock does not roast. The house coffee comes from Square Mile Coffee Roasters in London, with featured roasters from Europe and beyond, Five Elephant, Koppi, Coffee Collective, Tim Wendelboe, La Cabra, Drop Coffee and Belleville among them, and the coffee menu changes constantly across espresso and filter. The espresso in the mocha is Square Mile’s Red Brick, there is a guest espresso and a decaf, and the filter menu is ever-evolving, with prices that vary by coffee. Tea comes from Postcard Teas, which sources from farms of under fifteen acres.
The kitchen cooks seasonal breakfast and lunch from scratch, from bircher muesli and granola with Oxfordshire honey to a Prufrock benny with Red Brick espresso hollandaise, with dairy from Neal’s Yard and Northiam Dairy, fish from Ben’s Fish, meat from Swaledale Butchers and eggs from Cackleberry Farm. The Barista Training Centre runs SCA-accredited courses, home-enthusiast classes and team-building workshops, led by Authorised SCA Trainers who share more than fifteen years in the industry. The webshop sells merchandise and gift cards. Square Mile Coffee Roasters roasts the house coffee.
