Lodestar Coffee is a coffee shop in Lower Clapton, Hackney, in East London, run by Bugra and Gizem, who marked five years of the shop in July 2026. Its line is “Brewing what we love, rotating world’s finest roasteries”.
The guest espresso changes often. Recent ones include Flower Chaos from People Possession, a coffee co-fermented with flowers, and a hibiscus-led espresso from Taith Coffee. The shelves carry beans for home brewing from the shop’s favourite roasteries, Coborn among them, and People Possession’s immersion bags. Cold brew is made from a frequently changing selection of beans, brewed for fifteen to sixteen hours, and one batch usually drips on the bar. Freddo espresso is on the menu through the summer, and pastries come from St. John.
Some days Lodestar stays open in the evening as a Night Café, with cold brews served in wine glasses. Seating is limited and first come, first served, laptops stay closed, the menu is the same as in the daytime, and no alcohol is served.
