WatchHouse St Mary Axe occupies three floors of the Foggo-designed building in the City of London known as the Can of Ham. The café covers 3,900 square feet and belongs to WatchHouse, the London coffee roaster that began in a Bermondsey watch house in 2014.

For brewing coffee, the House is equipped with a custom brew bar, a 3Temp single-serve doser and a Modbar. The design takes its cue from the curves and modern materials of the building. A twelve-metre counter in brushed stainless steel follows a curve under a suspended canopy arch, and the single material and broad sweeping shapes are meant to soften the concrete and steel around it, with brushed and high-shine finishes catching the light differently.

Across the three levels there are quiet seats for working with a view, a cantilevered bar for watching the baristas at work, and a mezzanine for groups who come for the Modern Coffee experience. As an Espresso House it serves fresh bakes and sandwiches, and batch brew is poured from the Rituals, Ventures and Horizons coffee collections, with hot chocolate and a mocha among the other drinks. There is outdoor seating, and dogs are welcome. The coffee shop also takes events and private hire for up to 32 guests. The Bishopsgate House is a short walk away.
