Lucifer Lives Coffee has been a café in the Marolles in Brussels since 2020, and everything on the menu is vegan. It serves breakfast, lunch and brunch, takes no bookings and welcomes dogs.

The kitchen bakes its own sweets. Fluffy pancakes run in the mornings, stacked with vegan “eggs” and “bacon”, chives and maple syrup, with peanut butter and blueberry jam, or simply with maple syrup and icing sugar. The cherry pie is served as it is or warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and the café has baked vegan cookies for the launch of Lush’s Halloween collection.

On the coffee side the counter pours flat whites and batch brew, and the autumn list adds a pumpkin spice latte and a run of seasonal drinks. A loyalty card gives the tenth coffee free. The café also sells its own pastel T-shirts and caps, and hosts evening events such as a pumpkin-carving night with paints, candles, muffins and a hot drink.
