Kul Coffee is a café in Edinburgh that opened in 2025 in Hillside. Kul works with guest roasters. Its tagline is “Where coffee brews community”.

The menu makes a feature of pour-overs. The filter menu has included a Kenyan Kirinyaga AA grown by smallholder farmers at the Kii washing station, which Kul tasted as sweet vine tomatoes and blackcurrant with a crisp, bright acidity. Next to the brew bar is an espresso bar built around a Slayer machine for espresso-based drinks, and there is cold brew, decaf and plant-based milk. Breakfast is served too. Kul Coffee is walk-in only and has a laptop policy. There is outdoor seating, and children and dogs are welcome.

The first house roaster was Swerl Coffee Roasters, announced in June 2025 with this line: “Every coffee roaster has its own identity. We will follow the ones we resonate with. We want you to experience what the farmer brings to the cup.” Swerl is a micro-roastery in Falkenberg in Sweden, founded in 2019 and roasting its own coffee since 2022.
