Bonanza has been a pioneer of European specialty coffee in Berlin since 2006 and sells its coffee under the line “Unnecessarily Good Coffee”. It sources and roasts each coffee in Berlin, roasting “for clarity, sweetness, and expression”, and ships it fresh across Europe to home brewers, cafés and partners. Wholesale is offered worldwide.

Bonanza has four Berlin sites: the roastery in Kreuzberg, which is open to visitors like the cafés, a café in Prenzlauer Berg and two cafés in Mitte. For wholesale customers the pitch is short: the quality never changes, only the experience, and every choice along the way is made with one goal, how the coffee tastes in the cup.

The Essentials subscription delivers three 250 g bags a month, the Bonanza Blend, Das Almas from Brazil and Gogogu from Ethiopia, roasted within eight days of shipping and offered as whole beans or ground for filter, espresso, moka pot or AeroPress. The current retail range is listed below with the roaster’s own tasting notes.
