NANO KAFFEE was founded in 2014 by Ramin Massah with the aim of running a business more responsibly. Its phrase for the result is “Kaffee mit Haltung”. The roastery is organic certified under DE-ÖKO-070, and almost all of its coffees come from certified organic farms or from projects converting to organic. It roasts in Kreuzberg on a Loring roaster, chosen for its control of temperature and airflow and for lower emissions than conventional drum roasters, and each roast profile is developed individually for the origin, variety and processing.

Transparency is policy. NANO prints FOB or farm-gate prices for each coffee, buys through direct or long-term relationships, and ships climate neutral within Germany and by cargo bike within Berlin, with aluminium-free packaging and green electricity in production. Staff pay is 23% above the minimum wage as of January 2026.

There is no café. The focus is the roastery and wholesale, and online orders can be collected at the roastery. Its coffee is served at partner cafés across Berlin. The range covers single origins, a set of espresso and filter blends it calls coffee cuvées, a decaf espresso, a cold brew and collaborations with Szary of Modeselektor, including a half-caffeine blend called good morning | Lowcaf. NANO also offers wholesale, contract roasting and white-label coffee, and runs a roastery tour and tasting it calls the NANO KAFFEE EXPERIENCE. The current retail range is listed below with the roaster’s own tasting notes.
