Goosebumps is a Hungarian coffee company that roasts its own coffee, sells and services professional coffee machines and runs a vegan café in the Margit Palace building in Buda. Its mission is to introduce as many people as possible in Hungary to specialty coffee, without mystifying it. The café is fully vegan: vegan breakfasts, sandwiches, bowls and cakes, and plant milk in every milk drink.

The green coffee is roasted in the company’s own facility on a Loring S15 Falcon, with profiles meant to bring out the growing region and the variety of each lot. The current coffees come from Brazil, Honduras, Guatemala, Colombia, Rwanda, Burundi, Kenya and Ethiopia, split between espresso and filter roasts, with an everyday Classic Brew blend, a house blend, decafs and a special-edition Honduran geisha.

The bar runs espresso, cortado, cappuccino, flat white and latte, batch brew, hand brew and cold brew. An espresso menu pairs the same coffee as an espresso and with plant milk, and the signature drinks include an espresso tonic, an espresso with orange juice and a cold brew under orange oat foam. Teas come from Zhao Zhou, and there is homemade kombucha. The kitchen serves oatmeal, chia pudding, quinoa and poke bowls, a hummus sandwich, a green pea pesto bagel and a vegan BLT bagel with smoked tofu.

Next to the café, a showroom presents the Eversys, Modbar, La Marzocco, Mazzer and Puqpress equipment the company distributes, and hosts its barista courses and workshops. The current retail range is listed below with the roaster’s own tasting notes.
