Stage has served coffee since 2017 from a historic 1860s building on a corner opposite the Grade I listed hospital buildings of Leeds General Infirmary, keeping its tall arched windows and decorative details. The coffee menu rotates regularly through single origins from a range of producers and roasters, available as espresso or pour-over and on the retail shelf. Recent menus have paired a washed Yellow Bourbon from Fazenda Pantano in Brazil, roasted by Parallel in Glasgow, on espresso with a Kenyan peaberry from Outpost in Nottingham and a natural Guji from Rish in London on pour-over.
Breakfast and lunch are cooked to order, sandwiches come on rosemary and sea-salt focaccia baked in-house each day, and the pastries, cakes, cookies and brownies are made in-house too, with vegan and gluten-free options. The shelf carries Hoop, AeroPress, Chemex and Toddy brewers and other home brewing kit.
Stage runs tasting events: in October 2026 it hosted James Hoffmann’s Fermentation Project, four processing methods applied to one coffee lot and roasted by Skylark in Brighton, after hosting his Decaf Project in 2024. There is a shelf of board games, dogs are welcome, and the space can be hired for events.
