Mother Espresso is a café in the Tea Factory in the Ropewalks. Coffee is served as espresso, white or black, batch brew, pour-over on the V60, cold brew and nitro. House drinks include Apocalypse Now, a Vietnamese coffee with orange bitters, and Lemonade Joe, a double espresso with housemade lemonade. There is real chocolate, matcha, tea and herbals, homemade kombucha and a short list of ciders, beers and cocktails, among them an espresso martini made with Mother’s own coffee liqueur.
The counter has everything bagels boiled and baked fresh daily, sausage rolls hand-filled and baked daily, arancini, cinnamon buns and other bakes. The kitchen runs from porridge and granola to eggs, a full breakfast, a vegan breakfast, toasties with house-fermented kimchi and sauerkraut, and a Reuben.
