Haven is a Sydney café group that roasts its own coffee. Its line is For Locals, By Locals, and it runs five sites: brunch cafés in Barangaroo, Darling Quarter, Green Square and Rosebery, and an espresso bar in Haymarket. The Green Square café in the Green Square Town Centre is the company’s headquarters and flagship store. The cafés are child friendly and bookable, and all but Green Square are pet friendly with outdoor seating.

Haven roasts every Wednesday and sends web orders within a day or two of roasting, within Australia only. Its espresso programme follows a set structure. Compass, the everyday house blend of Colombian and Ethiopian coffee, is roasted for milk. A rotating single-origin espresso is roasted as an omni roast, a little lighter, so the origin shows. A Seasonal Blend is released every three months around a flavour concept; previous releases were named Berry Trifle, Toffee Apple and Strawberry Sundae, and the current one, Lemon and Berry Scone, combines Ethiopian coffees, a Colombian gesha and an extended-fermentation lot from Honduras. Some cafés also serve the seasonal blend as batch brew.

Alongside the espresso coffees there are washed and natural single origins for filter, each with the producer, variety, process and altitude, and Hario and AeroPress brewing gear. The current retail range is listed below with the roaster’s own tasting notes.
