Norange was founded by Alex Nerantzis, who has worked in coffee for nearly 20 years. In 2007 he launched Cafetierra on the island of Corfu in Greece. He came third in his first Greek Coffee Roasting Championship in 2019, won the title in 2022 and went on to place fourth at the World Coffee Roasting Championship in Milan. Norange, based in Copenhagen, carries that work on.
The espresso bar is on Sankt Hans Torv in Nørrebro, where guests drink espresso at the bar or take home fresh beans. The single-origin beans come from “some of the world’s best farmers”.
The roasting style is inspired by Nordic coffee culture. Every coffee gets its own profile, and Norange uses both espresso and filter roasting profiles. For now it roasts on a Loring S15 Falcon at The Coffee Roasting Company on Refshaleøen, and its goal is a roastery of its own.
