Blackbird is a café and bakery in Russafa, with a smaller second counter, Little Blackbird, in the old town by the Mercado Central. The coffee is roasted by Right Side in Barcelona, and the bags on sale to take home change with Right Side’s list: in spring 2026 they were two lots from Kasahun Jabo, one natural and one floral, a washed Héctor Saavedra and a Darwin Moreno. Cold brew joins the menu at both counters when the weather turns warm.

Blackbird’s own pastry team bakes for the counter. In March 2026 the counter held tomato and ricotta danishes with pecorino and pesto, gluten-free chipá, caramelised croissants, a pumpkin, leek and Gorgonzola quiche, cinnamon rolls, blueberry bostock, lemon and poppy seed cake, orange and hazelnut cookies and two gluten-free financiers, each made at only one of the two sites. Each month adds specials: in October 2026, a pain suisse with hazelnut frangipane, praline and coffee cream, and a vegan pumpkin spice loaf with roasted pumpkin and orange glaze. Hot cross buns appear at Easter, and weekend cakes fill the Russafa counter.

The kitchen makes sandwiches, among them a Caesar with roast chicken, house Caesar dressing, crispy bacon, pickled red onion and rocket on toasted sourdough from a partner bakery.
