Syra Coffee started in 2015 as a small café with one purpose, which still holds: to make good coffee a habit for everyone. The founders followed “less is more” from the first day and concentrated on a single thing, good coffee to take away. The company’s mission is to democratise good coffee: coffee of this kind is not only for a few people with a trained palate.

Eleven years on, Syra runs twenty shops in Barcelona, in Sarrià, Gràcia, El Born, Poble Sec, Sants, El Clot, Poblenou and across the Eixample, including a counter inside an H&M store in the Eixample. There are further shops in Madrid, Sevilla, Valencia, Donostia, Girona, Málaga and Bilbao. The shops take online orders for free collection, and the company marked its eleventh anniversary in October 2026 with a limited blend of Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Honduran lots.

Syra tastes, imports, roasts and serves its own coffee, roasted weekly in Barcelona. It works directly with farms as small as one hectare, owned by individuals, families and cooperatives it can name, and buys only seasonal lots. The online shop sorts the coffees into filter, espresso and omni roasts, and each coffee is sold with the producer, the variety, the process and a cupping score alongside the roaster’s own description. Syra also sells capsules, brewing equipment and a coffee subscription. The current retail range is listed below with the roaster’s own tasting notes.
