KB Coffee Roasters threw itself into specialty coffee in 2010, opening one of the first coffee shops in France at a street corner between Pigalle and Montmartre, in the 9th arrondissement. It is a neighbourhood coffee shop with a large terrace looking towards the Sacré-Cœur and house pastries that have pleased the quarter and its visitors for more than ten years, a room that has hosted writers, actors and musicians and dozens of coffee events, tastings and cuppings with European roasters and importers. The shop is KB Cafeshop, also known as KB Martyrs.

KB began roasting its own coffee in 2015, which let it serve the coffees it wanted: coffees out of the ordinary, with punch, that you do not forget. They are sold in the shops and online, whole bean or ground. In 2019 the company opened Back in Black, a 200 m² coffee shop in the 11th near Bastille with a roasting workshop and a large kitchen for a breakfast and lunch menu, and “devilish” pastries. A monthly subscription with no commitment has run since 2021.

KB cups blind and ignores the story behind the coffee and the marketing: only taste counts. It picks importers and growers it trusts to look after people and nature upstream, then forgets all that at the cupping table, and it buys only coffees the team wants to drink every day for months.
