Five Ways started brewing in Amsterdam in 2017 and now has two cafés in the city, one in Oost and one in West. It roasts on a Loring S35 and roasts weekly to order. Its green coffee comes through trusted importers and from direct trade with farmers, and its line is “We roast coffee for the people”.

Alongside the cafés and the online shop, Five Ways supplies coffee to businesses, sells equipment at wholesale prices and services coffee machines and grinders. Its training academy runs SCA-accredited courses, from Barista Skills and Sensory Skills to Roasting, and it offers consultancy to coffee businesses on vision, costs and growth. Packaging and logistics are chosen to cut its carbon footprint.

The espresso side of the range covers the everyday coffees, including a sugarcane decaf and the Five Points blend of a natural Brazil and a washed Colombia, each roasted to its own profile. Five Points is the blend poured at the East café. The filter side carries washed and experimental lots from Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya and Yemen, among them competition lots.
